Missing You

In less than three weeks time, we’ll have Daughter home again after her year in Brazil. You can tell just how sad and homesick she is from the way she pours out her heart in the long, emotional e-mails she sends to us.

Here’s this morning’s offering:

Hey guys :D

got back safely from Belo Horizonte, and had a great time.

About going to Germany, It´s gonna be Frankfurt or real near. In the beginning of August, but don´t worry, I´ll be back in time to start school.

that’s it i think...

Lots of love (daughter) xxxx

See what I mean? She’s not even home yet and she’s already planning on taking herself off down to Frankfurt to meet up with some boy(-friend?) from NYC who she met out in Brazil, and who is on a tour round Europe in August with his parents.

Having got the taste for adventure I think it’s going to be difficult keeping her home for long enough to finish school!

Her spirit of adventure is lovely. She doesn't sound like she'll ever say, "What if?"

You'll find a way to get her back to school, I'm sure. BTW, how is your son doing with teaching?

Do-wa,Do-wa,Do-wa ditty. Talk about the boy from New York City ...

Nitebyrd: We've always tried to give them their independence, with the knowledge that we're always there if needed.

Son is hoping to transfer to University to read English, but he needs to up his grades in Spanish first (he needs a second foreign language to get in)so he will be going to a summer school. He loves teaching, but wants the university degree so that he can do it at a higher level.

She is such a lucky girl. I wish I had taked the bold step of going off round the world when I was younger.

I'm sure she will settle down when she gets back with you both again. I bet she has some tales to tell. :)

Suze: We've a 4-hour drive home when we pick her up from Copenhagen airport. I can imagine she'll be talking non-stop the whole way!
